TORONTO tyro GriffinLea feels no trepidation about testing his skillsagainst Merewether’s star-studded line-up –just excitement.
The 16-year-old quick, who has taken 25 wickets at 13.56 in all competitions this season,is arguably Newcastle district cricket’s most promising teenage bowlingprospect.
Lea’sperformance against the likes of Lions skipper Simon Moorein Toronto’s two-day match against Merewether at No.1 Sportsground on Saturdayshould provide a true acid test.
“We’re making sure we play our own game and not fall into the pressure of their names,” Leasaid. “Obviously Merewether have some big names.I love bowling against a good batting side. The feeling of getting their wickets is great becauseyou’ve really got to earn it.”
